Dear Settlers,

Welcome to the first edition of our Mayor’s Update. The Mayor’s Update will provide you with a recap of what happened in the previous month and will also give you some insights into what the team is working on by providing a sneak peek into developments ahead. Thank you for joining us on this journey, and let's dive right in!

Server Migration

Let’s start with a topic that is still causing some issues with some game worlds – the server migration. We already gave you an update on the situation but we just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their patience and support in this matter. While the server mitigation is still ongoing for a couple of weeks, progress is steady, and we're on track to create a more robust setup for the future

Features / Changes to the Game

In the past month, we've rolled out regular updates and addressed various issues.

A noteworthy change allows you to remove permanent skins from your buildings, storing them in your star menu for future use. We thought this change would bring everyone more flexibility to change the look and feel of their settlement. Now you can easily keep your skins and swap around as you like. That should make it much easier for those of us who like to re-decorate their settlements for each season. We want to make more adjustments to this in the future, for easier convenience and handling, but this is not a priority right now.

Thanks to your feedback and bug reports we also fixed a lot of issues reported by our community. We are not going to list them all here, but we are highly grateful for your continued support.

As seen In the latest changelog we focused on fixing many issues with the PvP system. We thought it important to tackle as many issues in this regard as possible and we are happy with the results. There are still a couple of less critical issues to be fixed such as the PvP Achievements triggering correctly which together with some additional improvements is scheduled for an upcoming patch.

We understand that it might be frustrating to encounter issues and bugs in the game, but please know that The Settlers Online is a very complex game with a lot of systems working together. One change – even if initially deemed trivial can change or break other systems completely. Your reports, whether about major issues or minor text discrepancies, are all tracked internally, prioritized, and will be worked on eventually. So please keep them coming; your input is crucial.

Let’s take a look into the future:

Starfall

We are very excited to bring you the Starfall content update in early 2024. This quest chain is tailored to players at levels 40 - 80 and upon completion, will unlock new repeatable quests of the same level range and offer enticing rewards. We saw the feedback on the forums from players wanting something more to do than what we offered before, and after looking at data and more investigation we agree with this feedback. Currently, you can test the Starfall Event on the Testserver (https://www.tsotesting.com/) and give us feedback about what you like, dislike, or report any issues you encountered. While we understand that it is easy to point out issues or mistakes, it is equally important to share positive things as well – this is important for us to see if we are heading in the right direction and if you want to see more of this in the future.

Besides the Starfall Event, we have more for you in store. We will continue to fix issues with the game, implement player feedback, and work on exciting new features and content, but this is for a future Mayor’s Update.

Thank you for reading and we hope you're now as excited as we are for what's in store for 2024 with TSO!
